About the Study

This study is being conducted by JHU/APL under contract no. NNN07AA14T, task ILB01, Multiple-Spacecraft Missions Lessons Learned Study.

NASA’s Heliophysics Division has launched several multiple-spacecraft missions within the last 18 months and plans to launch several more over the next 10 years.  NASA wants to document the lessons learned from the recent launches and apply them to the planned missions:  RBSP, MMS, and Solar Sentinels.

The objective of this study is to provide development, launch, and early orbit lessons learned from the recent launches of THEMIS, ST-5, and STEREO.

The scope of this task order is to include all activities required to assess, evaluate, and document lessons learned from STEREO, THEMIS, and ST-5 development, integration, test, launch, and early orbit operations.
